Reverend Father Jud Duplenticy appears in Wake Up Dead Man and is a newcomer to Chimney Rock, assigned to Our Lady of Perpetual Fortitude at the beginning of the film. In the film, he is portrayed by Josh O'Connor.

Biography[]

Early life[]

In his youth, he was a boxer. In his last match, he killed his opponent in the ring, leading him to seek solace in Christianity. He eventually became a Catholic priest in Albany, New York.

Personality[]

Jud is kind, gentle, and a bit awkward. He cares deeply about the people around him and wants very much to help them. He is shown to have somewhat of a temper and can sometimes react with violence, due to his history as a boxer. Jud loves God and feels that being a priest is his life's mission.

Appearance[]

Jud is youthful looking, with short dark hair and blue eyes. He is shown wearing modern clerical attire—typically a black shirt and clerical collar—or in priestly vestments during services. He has a least one tattoo on the left side of his neck, which can be seen occasionally poking out from under his clothing. Josh O'Connor has stated that Jud has "a devil and an angel tattoo", along with the word "Serendipity" [1].

Jud is a very good priest. He is a skilled boxer. He is shown to be a very proficient wood-worker.
